WI Medical Malpractice Case Settled for $17.3 Million

The family of a Wisconsin girl have settled their medical malpractice lawsuit against her doctor. The settlement amounts to $17.3 million.

The lawsuit was filed after a surgery to remove the girls spleen went terribly wrong. During the surgery, the doctor cut major blood vessels and severed part of the girl’s bowel.

As a result of the botched surgery, the girl suffered from serious blood loss and permanent brain damaged.

The girl is now confined to a wheelchair. She is fed through a feeding tube, and communicates only through blinking. Because of these disabilities, she requires round the clock care.

Cases of medical malpractice are not as common as people think. They are very complex cases that occur because of medical negligence. No more than 15% of the hundred of thousand victims in the United States file a lawsuit. This tells us that so many other Americans lose the chance to seek compensation for injuries they suffered. Every case of medical malpractice has a time limit for a victim to file called statute of limitations. These laws will vary state by state, but your lawyer will know these laws and will work fast and accurately to get you some compensations for your injuries. If you are unsure if you are within these time limits, consult your lawyer. Still, there are exceptions to the rule so do not hesitate about taking your case in to be evaluated by a lawyer; you just may have a legitimate medical malpractice case. For More Information visit at:- Clinical Negligence.
